Where to study Biokinetics

Biokinetics training entails either four or five years of academic education. This will depend on the University you choose for your studies. Currently 13 South African Universities are accredited to train Biokineticists, which make you eligible for registration as a Biokineticist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

The training to which an individual is exposed in the course of preparing to register as a Biokineticist is of such nature that it enables one to seek employment in a number of allied health-related fields.

 

The scope of occupation is primarily dependent on the entrepreneurial initiative of the individual and includes practising as a Biokineticist in the following environments:

  • Corporate Sector

  • Correctional Facilities

  • Elite and Professional Sport

  • Fire Services

  • Community Centres

  • Military Bases

  • Military / Private Hospitals

  • Police Services

  • Private Practices

  • Schools

  • Gymnasium

 

3 +1 degree (plus an internship year)
