Daisuke Uematsu, PhD, ATC, FMS/SFMA, JASA-AT
Dr. Daisuke Uematsu works as the condition coach of FC Tokyo of the Japanese professional soccer top league, where he coordinate athletic rehabilitation program and runs strength condition program.
Dr. Uematsu graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Rehabilitation Science, Athletic Training program in 2003 and became a Certified Athletic Trainer by BOC 2003. Dr. Uematsu also holds the athletic training certificate (JSPO-AT) from Japan Sports Organization.
Dr. Uematsu has strong interest and desire to promote athletic training/therapy profession nationally and internationally. Dr. Uematsu has been a board member of Japan Athletic Trainers’ Organization (JATO) since 2011 and is the current president of JATO since 2017. He has been on various committee of JATO BOD, including external affairs, public relationship and symposium organizing committee. He is the chair of the organizing committee of the WFATT World Congress X Tokyo.
Prior to the current position, he was an Associate Professor, Niigata University of Management, College of Sports Administration, Niigata Japan and taught athletic training and strength conditioning related subjects.
He received the master degree from Ohio University (USA) in Recreation and Sport Science and the doctor degree from Waseda University (Japan) in Sports Sciences with emphasis on Sports Medicine.
