Program Description

This is the only accredited French-language athletic therapy program in North America. It has been accredited by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association since September 2017.

Our program teach an in-depth knowledge, education and training in the following areas: the human musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones and joints), exercise physiology, biomechanics, basic emergency care and principles of orthopaedic rehabilitation. Our students learn the care for a wide variety of patients, from children with concussions to seniors who have undergone hip surgery. Atletic therapists are recognized for their quick response on the field and for the emergency care provided to professional and elite athletes. They can act as first responders when an athlete is injured, quickly recognizing an injury and treating it. It is the combination of field care and active rehabilitation skills that enables athletic therapists to effectively treat the musculoskeletal injuries of all active people, both in the field and in the clinic.
